Recipe Tembleque 7
Recipe Tembleque 7 Puerto Rico

Ingredients:

1 large dried coconut
3 1/2 cups hot water
1/2 cup cornstarch
2/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon orange blossom water
2 tsp salt

 

Procedure:
Open coconut. Remove the pulp and grate it, add 3 1/2 cups hot water, mix and mash to get all the coconut milk. Strain and measure 4 cups of the coconut milk. In a large saucepan combine the cornstarch, sugar, salt and orange blossom water. Gradually add the coconut milk and mix well. Put over medium-high heat and continuously move until it begins to take consitensy. Reduce to medium heat and stir until mixture thickens and boils. Remove from the heat and pour over a mold, it must be completely dry. Wait until cool and swing over a flat plate.
